Is It Time to Clean Out Your Closet?

This post is sponsored by ThredUP but all opinions are 100% my own.

Are you constantly looking at your closet and trying to figure out how you can fit any more in it? Or do you KNOW you have outfits in there that you just don't ever wear, but you feel like you paid a lot of money for them so you MUST hang on to them?

I found this GREAT way you can get rid of those nicer clothes that you know you probably won't wear any more, and make some cash. It's a website called ThredUP.com and it's pretty neat. I love this idea and the fact that I can stick to my "one in one out" rule OR if you already have too many clothes, you can just sell them and get cash.

How ThredUP.com works :: OrganizingMadeFun.com

ThredUP sent me a cute polka dot bag to use to put my clothes, shoes, or purse into and send back to them.

Clothing and shoes I sent in :: OrganizingMadeFun.com

I used the calculator to see which clothes in my closet would qualify - they don't want your cheapy Target brand, but they DO want Old Navy, Gap, and other name brands that are in good condition, including kids sizes. I put in a couple of CABi pieces, an Ann Taylor top, a pair of Cole Haan shoes, girls' Gap sundress and Old Navy pants and other brand dress.

I filled up the bag and dropped it off at the FedEX office close to our house, but you can leave for the mail carrier, too. It's free to ship - FREE!!

Now, here is where I'm going to be honest with you. I LOVE this idea, but I regret that I didn't get the "Return Assurance" for the some of my pieces because they weren't accepted. I used the above chart to enter in my pieces. They will give you a realistic price expectation of what you can expect to get for each piece. But, again, if you send in something that you want back if they don't accept, pay the $12 return assurance and you can get your pieces back - I would recommend doing that, for sure.
My items sold fast :: OrganizingMadeFun.com

I checked on my bag a few days later and the items they took sold FAST! I was so surprised. From what they told me, Old Navy and Gap clothes sell best so those are great to send in. What do you think? Would you ever consider cleaning out your closet {or your kids} and selling some of your clothing or accessories that you don't really need any more? Visit ThredUp.com and you can also see the clothing they DO sell, too!
